The Lord continues to bless and sustain the work of The Colchester Mission. Thanks to the help of several volunteers and friends of The Mission, we have been able to mount several signs inside and outside the building. A sound system has also been installed and redecoration of the walls is underway. Thanks to everyone who has prayed and invested in the building works so far. We lack about £1800 to finish all of the initial renovations. If you’d like to help, go here for details.

This past Sunday, Andrew Franklin preached a fascinating message on “Death, Is That It?” from John 5:24-29. Click here to watch the service. On tomorrow, 22 August, Pastor Travis will be preaching from John 7:53-8:11 on the subject, “Rule Breakers and Rule Keepers All Need Jesus.” Make plans to join us at 6.30pm for the service.

Also, tomorrow at 5.30pm, before the services, we will have small group Bible studies, one for men and one for women. This will be an opportunity to ask questions, discuss passages of Scriptures, and fellowship together. Please do your best to come along early for these small groups!

Next week, we will be working on finishing the decorating and painting of the main hall. Work will be taking place on Monday and Tuesday. Let us know if you are available to help. Also, there will be a meeting with the men of The Mission at 7.00pm on Tuesday before Bible study, and then we will have our church BBQ at The Snodes’ house next Saturday, 28 August from 2-6pm. The Snodes live in Gravesend and would love to have all those who attend the Mission come for the BBQ. Please let Travis or Teri know if you plan to attend.

Finally, in partnership with Downham Baptist Church, we have planned a Winter Retreat on Friday to Sunday, 7-9 January 2022. The retreat is designed to be a refreshing time for the entire family. It will take place at Ashburnham Place in East Sussex. We have fifty places reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis, so please register soon if you are planning to attend. For more information and to register, go here.
